Since the Zelda Tech section of the website is defunct and disused, and this part of the site is a lot easier to update, I’ll go ahead and put this here.
A minor update of Zelda Tech with two fewer bugs. :/
For completeness, I’ll link to the other downloads here as well.
- Dungeon Master 0.1
- Combo: Zelda Tech 3.4 and Dungeon Master 0.1
In the unlikely event that you do not have the .NET Framework installed, you’ll need to get it to run these programs.
OH DRAT! Both Dungeon Master 0.1 and Zelda Tech 3.4 will NOT work without Microsoft .NET Framework! You should have let us know in advance that these tools require .NET Framework, snarfblam. 😡
I’ll have to install .NET on the Windows machine where those zelda level editor programs reside.
What a bastard I am! Fixed.
Hi, I don’t know where to post this. But I’m having trouble with warp caves. I have relocated them in my hack, I have tried putting only 4 warps, and seeing if I can edit the warp cave and I can’t figure out how to use them. Is there a guide how to use them and set them up, any info would be a great help
Hello, I’ve been having a hell of a time with the dungeon master program and glitchy enemies. When I lay down certain enemies off the grid, often times with certain ones (ans especially with bosses and dodongos) they don’t look right when I test the game. They look glitchy and unintelligable. I’m usually not one to ask about these things but I can’t find an FAQ or guide for these programs anywhere.
@ Mister Napkins
If you expand the windows (click “More”), beneath the maps you’ll see a picture of enemies labelled “Sprites”. Click on these to pick which enemy graphics the level will use. You can’t mix and match, though. You have to pick one of three predefined sets of enemies, and one of three predefined sets of bosses.
That seemed to do the trick! Silly I didn’t notice that over there. Thank you for your quick response, you’re a saint schnarfblam.
Is there anyway you can make your own combo in Zelda Tech? Or are you just stuck with a list of presets?
@ Mister Napkins
Zelda Tech can not edit the vertical strips that screens are made out of, but they can, in theory, be modified. I once wrote a little app to edit these, but it kept causing strange issues with the game. I’ll make a new post about this.
Snarfblam, you’ve been like a brother to me. And thanks for making available your comboifinator. However, I do have a few more questions, and nowhere else to turn. What of screen 92 on the Overworld Map? Is there anyway to remove the need for you to go in those specific directions to get out of that one screen?
@ Mister Napkins
Well, I know I’ve messed around with that before, but at the moment, I’m not sure to go about changing/removing it. I’ll look into it when I have a chance.
Snarfblam, I have yet another problem I cannot find an answer for. Why is it that when I edit a room in a dungeon (I’m using Dungeon Master, if that matters) it edits several other rooms including in other dungeons to match to the one I’ve just made?
I am running Zelda Tech and Dungeon Master on Ubuntu using Wine. They work good except that whenever I edit enemies, the programs lock up. Anyone know why or how to fix this?
